The fifth Blockchain for Europe Summit opened in Brussels with a program centered on the rapidly developing European regulatory environment for blockchain and digital assets. Representatives from industry, European institutions, regulators and academia participated in discussions over two days.
A major focus was the implementation of the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation, including regulatory certainty and the technical standards required after the adoption of MiCA. The program also addressed anti-money-laundering regulation, decentralized finance, smart contracts and other policy questions affecting the blockchain sector.
The Summit demonstrated how European blockchain discussions were shifting from whether regulation would emerge to how new rules would operate in practice. For companies and professionals working with digital assets, regulatory implementation became an increasingly important part of technology strategy and market development.
